| Nature is the ground, the foundation of our existence. Every facet of human culture depends upon our experience in the natural world. This connection to the whole or nature provides the focus for the tapestries I weave. Human history records that all cultures have encompassed textile activities of some kind. This fact and the humanizing significance of textiles within cultures holds special appeal for me. I chose the tapestry medium for its language; the language of image, time, nature; of unworded conversations with the self. The tapestries I weave are small - my way of acknowledging what I may never know. |
